The Great Bear Chase Ski Marathon

It's full steam ahead for the 2025 UP Heath System Great Bear Chase, which takes place on March 8. 

Over 100 volunteers are needed to make the 2025 race happen! There are opportunities that take place prior to the race, as well as lots of help needed race day. You can see a list of volunteers needed, descriptions and shifts as well as sign up to volunteer on our website. Some examples:

• Registration (Friday, March 7)
• Stadium set up
• Aid stations
• Parking assistants
• And many more

When we do our post-race surveys, many skiers cite the friendly and helpful volunteers as one reason they come back each year. Check out the Word Cloud from our 2023 racer survey below!
