Roles will vary, some roles require certain skills. Volunteers will be required to sign a waiver, and will be asked to confirm their skills and abilities align with the role they selected. There are trainings during the day of the event for each role if a volunteer would like to run a game for which they are not currently familiar with or fully-versed in how to run. All volunteers will be expected to uphold the integrity of the event by following all rules to their station (i.e. not bending the rules to "pay-out" anyone with more play money than what they have actually earned/won).

Must know how to play Blackjack

  • If you cannot shuffle cards please email whsa@mtu.edu (we will work with you)

Volunteers will meet by the Wads Front Desk and Dining Hall near the front entrance of Wadsworth Hall at least 20min prior to your shift start.

  • If you will not have card access please email whsa@mtu.edu and we will have one of our volunteer hosts let you in.

Volunteers will deal/run a a Blackjack table for the duration of their shift, distributing play money as winnings in values of 5. "Last call" will take place at around 11:15PM and games running long must end no later than 11:25PM. 

Volunteers will be provided a full role responsibilities document upon sign up.

Volunteers will help clean up the Blackjack station/area.

Encouraged to dress up, but not required, may be asked to wear a high-vis vest
