Columbia Supreme is looking for a Nonprofit Program Assistant Intern to help promote and foster the character and skill development of high risk youth through the support of the Columbia Supreme athletic and educational programs. This is an excellent opportunity for someone thinking about a career in the nonprofit sector or for someone interested in special event planning and/or public relations and marketing. The mission of Columbia Supreme is to improve the lifelong outcomes of at-risk, youth by using competitive athletic programs and Youth Entrepreneurship and Mentor Program to motivate and promote good character, self-discipline, athletic and academic excellence and create future leaders in school, sports and our community.
Description: The Nonprofit Program Assistant Intern will support the Executive Director to develop internal and external communications and fundraising activities. Additionally, the intern will assist the Executive Director where necessary. Duties will be approximately 70% project oriented and 30% clerical. Clerical duties include working with organizational database, mailings to members, and general assistance. NOTE: Schedule will be determined based on required hours and availability of intern and Executive Director.
Qualifications: • Advanced undergraduate or graduate student working towards a degree in a related field • Demonstrated familiarity and interest in humanitarian and non-profit organizations • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Proficiency in English is required • Proficiency using Microsoft Office software • Grant-writing experience is a plus
